About Caron
For 25 years, Caron has led people-focused work that puts children and families first. Working around the country with education and nonprofit organizations, Caron takes a big-picture approach in exploring the culture, structure, and dynamics that shape how organizations function and thrive. Working to foster positive change and help people reach their full potential, Caron is a values-based leader, who believes in creating equitable systems that reflect community values. She is committed to uncovering opportunities and creating solutions that support all students — especially those who are historically underserved.
With double master’s degrees in social work and nonprofit leadership and working in Jewish Community Centers around the country, Caron built meaningful relationships with children and families through innovative prenatal and post-partum family engagement, early childhood, day and overnight camping, and LGBTQ inclusion programs.
As the director of the JCC Early Learning School in Denver, she worked to build a nationally recognized early childhood education center. Caron has worked closely with early childhood directors around the country as a coach and consultant, focusing on building healthy school cultures where children are at the center of decision making, educators are deeply valued and parent voice is encouraged.
Caron has worked extensively with organizational leaders in identifying their guiding values, building a shared vision, and working closely with them to ensure their work is aligned with these values and vision. She has also served on various non-profit boards in the community, including as board chair overseeing the hiring of 2 senior leaders of the organization.
Caron is the proud parent of 2 DPS graduates and 1 DPS student and has been a DPS parent for 11 years, with constant involvement as a parent volunteer. She lives in Lowry with her husband Dirk and their kids.
